This video was shot for $75.00 on a $25 pawn-shop camera and a toy Fischer-Price camera. I edited the whole thing on a PC way before they were capable.
The most expensive element was the "flashing" cop light. The rest of the money went for pizza and beer.
These were all friends with no acting experience. I showed up with a camera, told them what the scene was about and they all just went for it. It was amazing. And most all of the scenes were first takes. And sometimes in below freezing weather.
I think some of these guys missed their calling.
The only near accident, besides some scrapped knees, was when I left my truck in neutral and it started rolling away with the camera plugged into the cig lighter. We caught it, had a good laugh and kept shooting. With the parking break on.
I think we made this in about 1999. I'm not sure. Some of the shots were in this bar my wife Guin and I owned. And the jail scene, that was a corner of our building. Years later we lived there. After we painted.
None of us ever thought about entering it into a festival. But the local TV station did a piece on it.
The most memorable quote was from Mike of the Groobees. Mike told the reporter:
"Well, it's nothing you'll ever see on MTV. But it's OK."
I guess Mike was right.

As for me, I'm finishing up my fourth movie script. I'm going to make a movie.
