Take heart, Adam Lambert. Kris Allen may have won the title of American Idol, but then again, so did Taylor Hicks. Hicks', the guy who sorta looks like George Clooney but uglier, was the oldest person to win Idol. And boy, did it show. Aside from his gray hair, the singer broke out a harmonica regularly onstage and still incorporates it in his performances. After his debut album predictably underperformed, Hicks was dropped from his Idol-backed label and has been doing off-Broadway shows ever since. The former Idol winner is now putting out a new album independently, it's unfortunately just as hokey as before. Watch. I'm sure the producers of Idol wish they could do have a do over for the fifth season.
