Hi. Torley, thank you for this video, but.... i m afraid muting a spammer does not do much? I would like to ask a question and I would also like to make a suggestion about it.
First, if you mute a person in the group chat, does this person stay mutted permanently ? Don't they get unmuted if you talk later in the group? (I saw Timmy's post but as far I know automatic unmute still works? if that was done already and skipped my attention, I appologise : )
If not, I would suggest to LL to replace this feature with an alert "you muted this person, would you like to unmute them?" with Yes/No option instead.
Second, I believe LL should provide an efficient tool agains agressive spammers. Group owners can fill AR report, but they can't ban spammers from rejoining their groups, and perhaps they want to see their groups growing and they like group members are chatting - but not spamming - so they want to have open enrollment and chat turned on in their group.
A lot of large groups with chat option have problem of organised spam, ie. "agencies" who post commercials in groups they don't own (against group owner's will and taking money from naive store owners for "promoting" them).
I would strongly suggest to give to group owners the same tool as land owners have: ie not just ejecting, but banning someone from the group permanently. This way group members perhaps won't even need to "mute a groupchat spam " in moderated groups.
I would love to see a feature added to mute group chat. I find continuous group chat extremely invasive, but want to stay in the group for notices.

The thing that really is needed is real group chat mute..groups are needed for many only for shop rezzing and that means full 25 groups all the time. And those forced opening group chats are only and only and only worthless and annoying.
The title is misleading. Your only muting an individual which is nice if you are in a small group and everyone else isn't replying/harassing the person spamming. It would be nice if there was an option to mute an entire group so they can all go on chatting all they want to eachother without having to try and mute some 500 people. I often am a member of a group for event notices (which CAN be disabled) but not chat (which cannot be disabled). I love your videos Torley, but I find it easier to click on the person's name in chat to bring up their profile and click the mute button. The slider often moves to quickly as different people talk, plus with the profile open I can use the notes tab to notate why I muted them in case I bump into them inworld somewhere.
Wow! thats handy, i was getting so annoyed of automatically unmuting someone because they happen to be blabbing on in group channels..and now...Now people can even mute me, which doesnt make me sad..exactly...but makes me go Grrrrr..
