July 22 1941. The girl next door is getting married. Anne Frank is leaning out of the window of her house in Amsterdam to get a good look at the bride and groom. It is the only time Anne Frank has ever been captured on film. At the time of her wedding, the bride lived on the second floor at Merwedeplein 39. The Frank family lived at number 37, also on the second floor.

Last week, the only known filmed images of doomed teenaged diarist Anne Frank were posted online. The short video from 1941 is part of a whole channel the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam launched on YouTube last week. The clip of the inspiring Frank has had close to 1.7 million views so far and well worth a look.
This is the only known video footage to exist of Anne Frank.
You can see her watching out the 2nd floor window as a bride and groom depart from the 1st floor.
Visiting the Anne Frank house was one of the most moving, and interesting, experiences of my life. So it's incredible to see this footage made available online.
Proof, if any were needed, of how the Internet can be a great thing.
"Annemarie Bekker of the Anne Frank House is quoted as saying:
“The museum has had the footage for some time, but thought YouTube (YouTube) would be a good platform to show the film and the other films about her life. It’s another way to bring the life of Anne Frank to the attention of younger people, and all people worldwide.”
Though the footage predates Anne’s very famous diaries, we find it to be a very captivating moment in time that highlights life prior to the Frank family going into hiding. We have to agree with Bekker, who says, “The footage is very moving and very unique because these are the only moving images of Anne Frank.”"
