Lana Michele Moorer better known by her stage name MC Lyte began rhyming at the age of 12 but her career began in 1986.The release of her first single, "I Cram to Understand U (Sam) produced by her older brothers became the modest R&B hit that led to her recording contract with First Priority Music. Her debut album Lyte As a Rock, released in 1988 spawned Lyte's first #1 Rap Tracks single "Cha Cha Cha" and "Cappuccino". In 1991 she released Albumn number 3, Act Like You Know, which had yet another #1 hit titled "Poor Georgie". After another 3 more albums, Grammy nominations she decided to embark on an acting career playing herself on several TV shows as well as playing a character on these television shows In the House, Get Real, Half & Half, and The District.in 1996 Lyte began what is now a very successful voice over career. She became a voice for the branding of the STARZ network,opened Shaitel (LA Boutique), In October 2006, MC Lyte was one of the honored hip hop artists on VH1's Hip Hop Honors. Wow!
