I have to say on the surface, I disagree with this law. It sounds like a way for the government to start to control what is available online. As you stated, when this is done by corporations, you have other options (switch to AT&T, Qwest, Comcast, satellite, etc.) and a better opportunity will present itself. If the government gets involved, all options are gone.
