CAIR-OK issued a press release this afternoon regarding an incident that happened at the Sprint Call Center in Oklahoma City on September 26, 2009. A customer, allegedly, called the call center and, during the course of the call, asked the customer service rep. their name. Then, the customer, allegedly, asked if he/she were a Muslim. The rep, apparently, told the customer they were Muslim. Then, the customer, allegedly, said they didn't want to talk to the rep anymore, possibly cursed, and the Sprint rep hung-up on the customer. A week later the rep. was fired. CAIR-OK described the customer's words as a "hate call." Sprint has a policy that no employee can hang-up on a customer, period.
