The 2nd Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for Africa closed today, with the Synod Fathers voting to approve 57 propositions to be sent to the Holy Father for his preparation of the post-Synodal exhortation.
Speaking at a press conference following the close of the last general congregation on Saturday morning, the synods General Rapporteur and newly nominated President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, Cardinal Peter Turkson told reporters the theme of the first Synod on Africa the Church as the Family of God inspired by the Gospel, must engage in the ministry of reconciliation, justice and peace, the theme of the second Synod.
