Joy Behar (I've watched her new talk show) is actually pretty level-headed. When Joe the Plumber says 'I'm an American; I have the right to my opinion without being chastised for it,' Behar sets him straight in the right way, I think. Indeed, everyone has the right to their 'opinion'---not quite sure how one could be deprived of that right, since it's a matter of cognition, but whatever---but, no, you don't have the right to not be chastised. Sorry. If your opinion is stupid, ignorant, or just plain inflammatory (like saying gay people are morally equivalent to pedophiles), then your going to be criticized for it, Joe. Especially when you've ventured to make yourself (much to sensible people's chagrin) something of a public figure. I just find nothing more infuriating than ignorant people, like good ol' flannel wearin' Joe, suggesting they have the 'right' not to be criticized for their silly opinions. Moron. Does he even realize that my chastising him for his opinion--is itself an opinion, one that (according to his philosophy) I have the 'right to.' What a douche-nozzle.
