Detroit -- Police are investigating the assault of a Detroit News photographer outside a mosque whose leader was killed during a shootout with FBI agents Wednesday. A group of men attacked photographer Ricardo Thomas about 6:30 p.m. outside the mosque on Clairmont at Holmur. The attack lasted about 30 seconds and damaged camera equipment Thomas carried with him.
