what people are saying

As you have seen in the video a respectable Bishop asks a question in his native language and gets an audience of boos with remarks which clearly shows how many white Americans feel about the Latino community. Why is it that we stand for this? Why is it that we do not say enough? Is it because we are comfortable living our American lives and feel these remarks are not towards those of us who were born in America? If that is how many of us feel then we need to do a background check. We need to remember that these remarks are bluntly thrown towards our parents our grandparents who came into this country thinking life for us, their children, will be better than back home. We do not live in a country where racism does not exist. We also do not live in a country where it should be ignored. Racism against Latinos grows stronger as we, as a community, grow stronger. We are loathed not because we are Americans but because we are Latin American. We will not leave our culture, our language our way of living behind for us to forget. We will forget our names our past and the people who have fought and are fighting for our right to live as we are, Latinos. This is an issue the too many of us experience on a daily basis, it's time we stand up and do something about it! "You have been blessed with the grace of the Panther"
