Fairly good 3-minute summary. I would add that "artificial intelligence" has not been attained, but we do have smart robots, and the beginnings of self-replicating 3d printers.

This is not a "widely accepted theory among top scientists" at all - it's predicated on non-existent intelligent machines or "nano" technologies.
