You know, it’s actually my first time being on a variety show. I’ve never done one of those. I had a lot of fun doing it. It was a hoot, we rehearsed once, and I felt good, and then we did it live. It was an altogether different ballgame, and we still had a good time. I really had a good time. I really got Alex bad.
I’m Alex. I’m an arrogant little wh**re. [laughter]
I am honored, actually, because I had known they used me on the show twice, and they made fun of me, and I didn’t see it because I can’t read cartoon characters lips very well, so I don’t watch the show.
(phone) Please say the name of the movie you’d like to see now. (mimicking deaf voice) The Last Mimzy. (Phone) I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that. Please say the name of the movie that you’d like to see, now. >>The Last Mimzy. (Phone) You have selected, “300″ If this is the movie you’d like to see, say yes, now. >>No! (Phone) You have confirmed, “300″.
Friends and lots of fans of mine said “you know they make fun of you all the time on the show”, and they didn’t like it. and I said,You know what, give me a break. It’s just a show, and it’s comedy, why not? So, if you have a good sense of humor that day, that’s fine, go with it. So I was really happy to come back and be on the show.
(MM) Did that feel good? Huh? (Alex) No, no. >>Does it? >>No, it does not feel good Ms. Matlin. >>It doesn’t! [foot stomping] >>No.
I’m a fan of their work, and I have a great deal of respect for the show, and the humor…
[squeaky farting as she walks] Hi Stewart. >>Oh come on, Marlee, I know you can’t hear them, but you gotta feel those things slapping out of there.
Oh, absolutely, I’d do my voice in a second. That would be interesting. I would be the first deaf person to use her voice on an animated cartoon, why not? That would be interesting.
