If you look carefully at the beginning of the song you can see that he is actually singing the first line, but the microphone is blocking his lips and it aparently off- it comes back in midway. People just like to assume the worst of everyone, seriously look it up, and you will see it was not him, the CMAs were having technical difficulties all night, as previously mentioned by other posts.
