what people are saying

I am using this as a lead in for a sermon titled "Foolish Honor", based on the woman who broke the alabaster jar and poured the spikenard upon Jesus. Such a foolish waste, but to Jesus it was the picture of what the gospel is truly about. I don't think Steve Jobs is a Christian, but his speech brought out these points which could be the foundation of any sermon from the Word of God... 1. The only way to be truly satisfied in work is to do what you believe is great work. (Work as unto the Lord) 2. The only way to do great work is to love what you do. (with all your heart soul mind & strength) 3. Don’t Settle (Reach for the prize of the high calling) 4. If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today? (I die daily) 5. Remembering you are going to Die is the best way to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. (We are living sacrifices) 6. Death is Life’s change agent. (To live is Christ, to die is gain) 7. Don't waste your life living someone elses life. (For to me to live is Christ) 8. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. (Walk in the Spirit) 9. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. (think Holy Spirit) 10. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition (Follow after Christ) 11. "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." (Hunger & thirst to the point of foolishly giving everything to Jesus Christ)Cast: Jim Tompkins
