Ani Batikian plays a violin carved from a sycamore tree that once stood in the garden of Arthur Conan Doyle when he was a boy. The physician and writer went on to create perhaps the most famous fictional detective of all time - Sherlock Holmes.
The violin was made by master craftsman Steve Burnett, and will be used almost exclusively to raise money for environmental and children's charities.
You can read about how I met Steve, and how he made this remarkable instrument, by following this link.
