atheist people have so much time to discredit something that "does not" exist because of the immense detrimental effects that religion poses on society. How can religion be wholly "good" if there lies within it the premise that if one does not fully obey what is taught then one will receive eternal punishment, religion really offers no choice at all, and aren't democracy and freedom based upon choice? Religion is a disease that has prayed upon the weak minded for thousands of years and why atheists have sooooooooooooo much time on their hands to discredit something that "does not" exist is because it is wrong, if you were taught that the fairies existed and that we should look to them for our moral teachings would you not feel inclined to discredit their existence? It's not so foolish once you think about it...

Christopher Hitchens vs Al Sharpton on Atheism and God - The Full Debate fora.tv 1 hr 29 min - May 7, 2007 Christopher Hitchens, who is the author of "God Is Not Great", debates Al Sharpton at the New York Public Library (NYPL) on May 7 2007. Debate topics include God, religion, and atheism. Debate moderated by Jacob Weisberg of Slate magazine. "Taking on possibly the greatest issue of our time - the malignant force of religion in the world - Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion through a close and learned reading of the major religious texts, citing numerous historical instances in which sexual repression and outrageous acts of violence have been committed in the name of God. He argues for a more secular life based on science and reason, in which hell is replaced by the Hubble telescope's awesome view of the universe, and Moses and the burning bush give way to the beauty and symmetry of the double helix." -- from Hitchens' new book "God Is Not Great - How Religion Poisons Everything". atheist christianity mormon mitt romney religion jesus bible christ messiah old new testament messianic holy judaism judeo jewish faith church evangelical evangelism televangelist secular moral morals morality ethical ethics islam muslim complete full debate christian humanism agnostic religious fundamentalism fundamentalist secularity
