I post this in celebration of my son's eighth birthday today. When he was born, I wasn't really ready to be a mom, and with my poor health I spent a lot of time lamenting being a mom and not being up to the task, and regretting my station in life. However, eight years later I realize that some other force out there knew that despite all the hardships we had to get through the past few years to get here, my son is exactly what I needed in my life. He is my light, he is my joy, and I am so glad he came to me (even though the doctors think that the fibromyalgia was triggered by the birth). I'm glad that I let fate and others who wanted progeny in their family decide for me at the time, for my son is the best thing that ever happened to me!
