A CAMFED film "The Broken Promise" part of The Learning Circle is a participatory filmmaking project, based in northern Ghana, involving a group of local women and young girls who are all experiencing the harsh realities of discrimination either because of their disability, lack of education and poverty or through their work with marginalised communities.
The group makes films on pressing social issues that affect their lives and screens them in the local community to stimulate debate and change. The Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED) is an international organization working to solve long-term health, economic and social issues in Africa by investing in girls education. In 2005, more than 246,500 children in some of the poorest regions of Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana and Tanzania benefited from CAMFEDs education program.Film CAMFED International 2006.
