There is already inequality between men & women, the Victorian Dickinson society that is still alive and well within Britain is evident in Britain's growing Gang culture. Still Gang rape of girls is not the end of all and be of all cases of rape. many women are lulled by a rapist on a date, or even just by aquaintance. Too many men are aware that the Law will indeed swing in thier favour and that they can get away with rape. A drug in a girls drink, even a coffee is easily slipped into a cup or glass, the freindly guy helping a dazed woman to get home is indeed your rapist! Yet again the freindly guy who goes to a woman's home for a coffee, carry your books from the library can be the rapist. Even if a woman is not drugged and can fight, she fails to defend herself against a rapist. Lindsay Armstrong may have had a weak back, but women are also physically weak against a man on average. A woman may not be able to even fight back because of female shock system at such an attack, it is even slimmer if a woman has already fallen victim and if she has been raped already her chances of being raped again is high. Let's face it the Law is bias against women & in favour of men getting away with rape, there are more rapists going free & continue to rape than there are those who get a conviction, the sentence for the woman who loses her case of rape, even though she has been raped is the risk of being raped again, by the same rapist or by another rapist. It's time for either the Victorian values in the system to be either eradicated completley, or protect women just the same as the victorian era, which is her word and by her word only to lead to a rape conviction. Otherwise if this inequality continues, it will be the men who will have care & custody of the children, because battered women through rape won't be able to care for the children, you need only look at Asylum Seekers in cases of rape and the results of social & community break-down. Sexism will kill us all off.
How are women to defend themselves against gang rape? She can't , not even if she tries to defend herself if she can, with being violent herself, it doesn't work, also if a woman has been plied with alcohol or given drugs, she can't fight back and is often unaware and it's too late when she finds out she has been raped, by then any evidence is also gone. All this plus the post-trauma she may suffer and then she may not find out for months or years after being raped. It is all to often found that a woman who has drank alcohol or used some form of drug, she is not classed as a rape victim but a ' Slut ', even the judicial system won't help to defend her if she has drank alcohol or used a drug. Yet again would the victim have freely used a drug, or been tricked into ingesting it? It happens to both sorts of women, but what people don't understand is that when a woman uses drugs she may be hiding the pain of abuses she has already suffered, the same is also true if she drinks alcohol to ease away pain. Far too many men also try to ply the woman with some alcohol, so that she has no case for rape. Women are still viewed in the judicial system as property and objects, perhaps the law also needs changing, and regard the woman not as property & rape against the State, but as a human being. The battle against women & rape is sexism in the British Judicial system itself, plus the recognition that women are indeed no match for men intending rape, there is inequality between the sexes, men will always be able to overcome women if they intend rape, as many women by thier own definition in reaction towards rape is shock, they freeze and do not cry for help or even scream, there are too many men who will pick a victim that has suffered child abuse already, with that background they will always have the upperhand too. It is easier to continue victimisation through an already known victim. Lindsay Armstrong may have had a weak back, but many women have already weakend emotions.
I myself have suffered sexual abuse & rape, i have suffered many rapes including drug rape. My parents were ignorant, wouldn't listen & when they did hear & believe that i was gang raped on holiday because it was my step-brother that told them as he was a witness at the time, they still treated it as ' how sad never mind it tough sh*t ' it happened and there isn't anything anyone can do. I have had most of my life taken away from me finding it difficult to cope with enough energy, i have also felt suicidal quite a few times, i have also practiced self-harm for quite some time.
I was also told by others that raped me ' it's your word against mine & we can get away with it ' and also i have had dissociation because of drug rapes repeatedly.
On top of which when i entered into counselling when in my early forties for sexual abuse & rape, i was left in a terrible state, suicidal & i made a mistake of reporting rapes that happened years ago to the police in a distressed state, the treatment from police was that i was a ' slut ' and that i was worthless. Every message that i have recieved is that Britain truly stinks!!!! where women & rape is concerned! Many women are left in my position and no-one cares from parents to men as well as the authorities.
We are ultimately left to suffer in silence & also told that it is a serious allegation to cry rape at the same time. It's about time that women struck back, screw the law & get violent back at men because the law protects these raping men, it is no wonder that my parents also thought that there isn't anything that you can do either most of the time, not just thier backgrounds of being emotionally un-intelligent, it's also the authorities who handle these cases first hand as well that are to blame!
The message should be that men who rape women & who think thatthey can get away with it &pass the message on to others so that they too can generate rape of women should be violently attacked themselves & shown that this is not the case!
David Cameron speaks against rape at the Conservative Women's Organization Conference in England. Rape in Britain is high and convictions are low. Britain needs tougher sentances and more support for victims. David Cameron suggests that England and Whales needs a complete cultural shift to protect the wellbeing and safety of its women.
