WONG:
An exciting discovery in the mountains of Peru. Archaeologists have discovered a thousand year-old Incan temple. Let's take a look.
STORY:
Researchers have found the ruins of an Inca temple at a park in the Andes Mountains. The temple is made of stones and adobe and measures 2,700 sq feet. It has 11 rooms of various sizes and an area shaped like a Chacana, an Incan religious symbol.
Archaeologists say they were lucky to have discovered the temple- part of which had been destroyed nearly 100 years ago by dynamite blasts at a nearby rock quarry.
This is a region rich in historical treasures and archaeologists say they will spend the next five years investigating evidence of other buildings near the temple.
