Spooky robot I don't want in my house. Might be mistaken for an alien or sumthing.

this is an amazing piece of technolgy, it looks more like a damn giant fly it is spooky what we can acheive when we set our minds to any given task. I dont know maybe Im being a little to but it just gets to me that we can spend so much consentrated effort inginuity, and so much money on something thats gonna most likely be used in a millitary capacity when there so much more good we can do with those previously mentioned attributes. For example really putting effort tons of money in research to cure at least one damn disease, there has'nt been a diseased cured since polio, for fuck sake polio. Its all such bullshit. Dont get me wrong there is a place for everything it just crossed my mind when I saw this hiddeious monstrosity which at the same time is a beautiful homage to the human beings ingenuity. Use some of this Brain power to do some genuine good. I believe the powers that be would of course do their best to halt any real leap iforward to get rid of lets say cancer, theres a great deal of money in peoples suffering, thats how these fuckers see it. any how the damn fly looking douche bot is amazing but at best it would be siuted to throw on a mock dinosaur skin over it and bring back the assholeassaurus.

Named as The Most Advanced Quadruped Robot on Earth, The BigDog by Boston Dynamics is the gasoline powered alpha male of the Boston Dynamics family of robots. It is designed to walk, run and climb terrains, as well as carry heavy loads. Its legs are hydraulic powered and are calibrated like animal’s. It measures 1 meter long, 0.7 meters tall and 75kg weight.BigDog has an on-board computer that controls locomotion, servos the legs and handles a wide variety of sensors. BigDog’s control system manages the dynamics of its behavior to keep it balanced, steer, navigate, and regulate energetics as conditions vary. Sensors for locomotion include joint position, joint force, ground contact, ground load, a laser gyroscope, and a stereo vision system. Other sensors focus on the internal state of BigDog, monitoring the hydraulic pressure, oil temperature, engine temperature, rpm, battery charge and others. In separate trials, BigDog runs at 4 mph, climbs slopes up to 35 degrees, walks across rubble, and carries a 340 lb load. (Boston Dynamics)People around the web suspect that this project could be the future of military robotic warfare. You just have to mount a remote operated machine gun or rocket launcher and you got a robotic animal soldier. To date, the BigDog costs over $10 million to develop, weighs over 200 lbs and can carry over 340 lbs of cargo. It is funded by The Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA).Watch The Boston Dynamics Big Dog (BigDog) VideoWhat are your thoughts about the Boston Dynamics Big Dog/BigDog? Isn’t it creepy?

Totally F*cking Amazing!via BreitbartIt is a quadruped robot that walks, runs, and climbs on rough terrain and carries heavy loads. BigDog is powered by a gasoline engine that drives a hydraulic actuation system. BigDog’s legs are articulated like an animal’s, and have compliant elements that absorb shock and recycle energy from one step to the [...]
