Sharakans are the Armenian sacred chants and literally mean "necklace of precious stones". They were composed with a view to be sung, from the period when Armenia adopted the Christianity in the beginning of the 4th Century. Here, the medieval chant "Where are you, my mother" is interpreted by the mezzo soprano Anna Mailian. With her unique, angelical and soothing voice, she is a true gift.
