It is sad this speech is still relevant. I recommend reading the book by Thomas Friedman called "Flat, Hot, and Overcrowded" We must demand our governments start a carbon tax to help jump start clean energy. In the he meantime, have one or two children or adopt and move closer in town versus support urban sprawl. See my web site.
I am so impressed with what I have heard from you. I am wondering if you and your organization would be interested in helping with myself and my 18 year old daughter, Kristin. We are working with an organization called HUB
( Humanity Unites Brilliance). We are wanting to help hange the world and believe that we need to help the childeren of Africa, educate and feed them so that they can also help the environment. Please, if you are interested, go to our website. We need brilliant and brave young people like yourself to help with the organization and spread the word and start to help other countries. By helping the others through this organization, we can also help in our own backyards. I am very interested in your response.

I am 11 years old, and I live in Sarnath, India. I think that we need to educate every child, from when they are young, about the future - and we need to educate them TODAY. I aspire to be an environmentalist, but here in India if I speak to my friends about environmental issues, people are not interested and will not listen. People here don't even know what an "environmentalist" is. In the USA or Canada children with interests like mine will have more peer support.
I very much want to network and meet other people around the world like myself. Is it possible to correspond with you? Can Severn or somebody else in ECO contact me, to let me know other resources to look to, and to offer me some moral support?

Don't lose heart. Set an example of small, steady steps. Whenever you can, talk about ways your friends and family can make the neighbourhood nicer for everyone to enjoy. Share what information you have. Show them how that helps them, right now (cleaner streets etc)
