I do not think that simply reporting the facts and publishing words from the Koran means that the writer is a 'shadowy fundamentalist'. It is not as if the reporter (Wilders) wrote the book after all. If he had I would agree with you. Is this not a case of 'shooting the messenger'? I do think the film is very good at making a very valid point. I am also very glad I was not sitting 'side by side with those who believe in islam' on that bus in London on &th. July, or on flight United 93 or any of the other airrliners hijacked on 9/11. I am ghat you weren't either, or we would probably not be debating freely like this. That freedom is one of many, many freedoms that I value and will fight to protect from the onslaughts of those who would deprive us of them. Be$t wishes, JD. بارك الله اميركا
Can you imagine making a short video documentary, knowing that it would result in over a billion people wanting to personally kill you? Most people in their right minds wouldn't attempt such a suicidal project. But, Geert Wilders, a Dutch lawmaker, has. The final production is called Fitna. This video contains disturbing imagery. However, you decide if it accurately depicts the "peace" that Muslim brings where it takes root.Remember, the word radical means a true believer, a zealout, a person sold out for the faith. Contrast this with a Christian who is "sold out for Jesus"...Fitna the MovieThe film's title, "fitna", is an Arabic term used to describe "disagreement and division among people" or a "test of faith in times of trial". Wilders, a prominent critic of Islam, described the movie as "a call to shake off the creeping tyranny of Islamization". (wikipedia)Here is the article that lead me to this video, it's from one of the e-newsletters I subscribe to by Lamb Lion Ministries.Israel Today reports in their article "There is no 'moderate' Islam, Dutch lawmaker tells Israelis" by Ryan Jones (Dec. 15, 2008) why Wilders has produced such an explosive movie and who would take offense at it.Because of his great concern for the islamisation of his native Holland and the rest of Europe, Wilders put together a roughly 17 minute documentary as a warning that should Islamic law become the law of every land, Islam would dominate the world. All non-Muslims would be killed instantly, women would lose all freedoms and face mutilations, honor killings would occur every day, little children would be raised to hate, and there would be a mosque on every corner enforcing sharia law. Wilders video demonstrates how Holland, Europe and then the whole world would have to live under such an oppressive Islamic system.Wilders produced this video solely by piecing together passages from the Koran, speeches by Muslim clerics, footage of Muslim terrorist attacks, and the cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad with his turban as a bomb
Such a shame. I am a white guy living in East London. Before living here I came from an exclusively white area and had never really interacted with non-whites. There is a very large Asian community here, many of whom are Muslim. There are many mosques and much of the community wears traditional dress. This kind of video does not reflect in any way the reality of living side by side with those who believe in Islam. In fact, it serves only as a reminder that, unfortunately, there are a few shadowy fundamentalists everywhere - the maker of this film being one of them.
I do think the film is very good at making a very valid point.
