It's not terribly interesting either but if you don't live in the US, it gives you an idea what Orson Welles is usually associated with in America: TV shows vignettes. The reverential awe associated with Welles, say, in France virtually does not exist here. "Oh, it's that guy who did those stupid card tricks on the Johnny Carson show" and so on.
This clip is from "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" which ran on NBC in the late '60s and early '70s. As far as I can tell it is NOT available on the DVD selection of "Laugh-In" (see e.g. http://tinyurl.com/yurdcl)
