Australia-listed Ross Human Directions deliberately created a large Asian "footprint" in Hong Kong as a step into the Chinese mainland and the rest of Asia, according to founder Julia Ross. She started her human resources career with one employee and went on to open 50 operations in six countries. Ross says that finding staff is just one aspect of a successful human resources firm and the company has developed services that address clients' attrition rates, with outsourcing and training increasingly significant aspects of the business. Hong Kong is an important bridgehead for the company due to its sophistication and infrastructure.
