Anyone who thinks less gas tax is a good idea must not have even a passing understanding of economics. The supply is not going to increase any time soon, and neither is demand going to decrease, so the price is not going to change. Less taxation just means more of your $3.50 a gallon will go to an oil company that just posted the largest profits in the history of US corporations.
