This implies that, under certain conditions, even these patriots who are ready to condemn Obama based on the flimsiest shoestring of guilt by association, would themselves resort to violence against government entities if they felt sufficiently betrayed.
Rightly or wrongly, and I think wrongly, in the context of the Vietnam War some people concluded that the government had sufficiently betrayed the interests of the people to warrant violent resistance. History clearly demonstrated that the Vietnam War was a useless betrayal of the American People in favor of the monetary interests of the Military Industrial Complex. Even the rednecks that thrilled in their violence against the longhairs in the early and mid-sixties ultimately came to understand this. Ayers was acquitted on a legal technicality because, at that time, even agents of the government had to adhere to the laws of the land. Things are different now. George Bush has the authority to designate ANYONE a terrorist and to hold them without charge and without legal representation for as long as he wants to. If William Ayers is in fact a terrorist, why isn’t he currently struggling to breathe through a water soaked rag? If he’s not a terrorist, why are McCain and Palin making a full time occupation of saying he is and that Obama is also a terrorist? I suspect this reveals more about their integrity than it does about Obama’s?
There are, indeed, still many foul aspects to the United States. Around the world we have repeatedly and clearly betrayed our stated interests in human rights, freedom and democracy whenever they have conflicted with our big business’ interest profit. Most people are blissfully unaware of this. We love our fantasies. I am hopeful, although unsure, that Obama’s intention is to work peacefully to make us adhere to our stated ideals. Only time will tell. But John McCain is a continuation of business as usual. And this is unacceptable to me and would be, I

This is an interesting and cinematically well done video but it left me wondering whether it was an indictment against Obama or against hope and change itself. The juxtaposition of Obama against the background of Vietnam era extremists could have been done to anyone who professes to want to change any of the less than perfect aspects of the United States. Is this movie suggesting that anyone who can speak well and who points out any flaws in U.S. policy is a violent terrorist? Does it suggest that everyone who has associated with William Ayers at any time is a violent terrorist? Is Mr. Ayers running around openly advocating the violent overthrow of the U.S. government? That type of speech is specifically not protected by the First Amendment and is clearly illegal. Given his personal history and the current focus of the media, I would guess that Mr. Ayers would be in jail if such advocacy could be demonstrated. We should keep firmly in mind that people getting together, becoming inspired, and working for change is not illegal in our country. In fact it is exactly the way our country was born and our founding fathers, who themselves resorted to violence against the government of the day, carefully reserved the right for the people of the country to do all of those things, by peaceful means, when and if the government failed to serve the people in the way they felt it should. The right of the people to keep and bear arms was reserved in our Constitution, in part, to provide a last resort of armed resistence to totalitarianism if the need should arise. And I'm guessing that most of the people who support the Republican Party because of it's outspoken defense of gun rights harbor somewhere in the back of their mind the idea that, push come to shove, an armed citizenry would be harder to impose a dictatorship upon than would a unarmed citizenry. This implies that, under certain conditions, even these patriots who are ready to condemn Obama based on the flimsiest shoestring of guilt by association, would th

Sounds like the Weather underground fell apart back then in the same way that the republican party is going today.

Barack Hussein Obama launched his political career in the home of William Ayers, member of the radical anti war domestic terrorist group the Weather Underground. Sure people can change, but Ayers said after the 9-11 attacks that he wished they had done more…Time to revisit “Movement” by Flineo
