I have always wondered about the authenticty and sincereity of the "so-called faith" of the early Christian church. Why work so hard to eradicate the indigious faiths if you actually have any real faith in the supreme power of your god to change the hearts and minds of others? Why not lead by example and let others see your goodness? Instead, it all seems just a pretense for a social power grab, pure greed and base political ambition. Historians have noted that the early pagans did not understand the church's claim of an exclusivie relationship to the Divine and became victims of it despite 2000 years of propaganda. Sadly, it seems to have little to do with Jesus or his divine message, then or now.
The hill known as La Mutta in the eastern canton of Graubünden is said to harness strong forces. Its 30 monoliths once made it a heathen place of worship and people have been making pilgrimages here for thousands of years. The Christians were aware of the area's special powers, and built a church here to try to suppress the heathen culture. (The Mysterious Switzerland series is produced by SRG SSR idée suisse.)
