A year-round attraction their hours of operation are weekdays 6am to 8pm and on weekends they open two hours later at 8am. The Valley View Ferry is closed during times of high water and for occasional maintenance.
Located on the southern tip of Fayette county simply take Tates Creek Road south from Lexington and you literally can not miss it. If you do you'll find yourself swimming in the Kentucky River.
