Yes PotCO, Pirates of the Caribbean Online for you who are bad with ackronims. I’ll start by saying that this game kinda shocked me. I never though a MMO based on a movie series could be so well put together. It may not have the shiny graphics of Age of Conan, but it does have good gameplay, some great ideas, and a quarter of it is free!
Like I said this game won’t blow you away graphically. The game seems to have been built around the idea it is aimed at young to middle aged kids/teens who like the movie, more than the glitz and glamour of newer games. So if you only like to play games with the latest graphics to show off your $500 graphics card, this ain’t it, sorry (well, actually, I’m more sorry you paid $500 for a graphics card, and if you bought two I’m doubly sorry).
Anyways, what the game dosn’t provide with graphics, it makes up for in gameplay and ingunuity. Ship to ship battles are fun, sword play is intuitive (after u figure out the the left mouse button is attack), and it has a very simple, clean, and easy to use interface. Though I found the way land combat worked as fun and interesting, some MMO players may find it a bit annoying how you need to keep clicking in order to attack. Like I said, ships are fun, but sometimes the AI can make it annoying by always running to the nearest big ship that can kill you in almost one shot. But past that the game is very fun and easy to play.
Though the game is fun to play, you can’t really get into the game unless you pay the monthly fee, sure there is a free account option, but this only opens up a quarter of the content. You can only move past a level 2 ship if you pay, you only get half the amount of character customization, and you can only really get so far before
