I watched the Women’s Gymnastics in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and I am in awe and amazed with what I saw. These girls have spent most of their lives training for those precious minutes at a chance for the Olympic gold. I applaud every single one of them.I always liked watching women’s gymnastic since they make it look so easy but I know it isn’t even close. My all-time favorite routine is floor, next is beam then bars. Vault is last just because there’s not much to see there. The top 3 girls Nastia Liukin (USA), Shawn Johnson (USA) and Yang Yilin (China) were absolutely great. In case you are not keeping track of Women’s Gymnastic, they got gold, silver and bronze respectively. For me, one gymnast stood out. Strength and flexibility are dearly valued in a gymnast and this girl got the first in spades. I loved her in beam and floor so much. Her half turns are my favorite and her jumps are high and powerful, spoke volumes on her skill. I am referring to none other than Russian gymnast, Anna Pavlova. I thought she would get one of the top 3 spots but she only ranked fifth (not bad). I looked her up and this is what I found in wikipedia. Here’s a montage of the 2008 Olympics for Women’s Gymnastics (too bad there’s not much of Pavlova, but in case you want to know, she is the one in the dark blue with light blue sleeved leotard):
