The betty la fea filipino version is much more ok than the original. I always find time to watch it because of the team-up of bea- john lloyd and the good castings.

I’ve got to comment on the big reveal of the identity of the actor who will play opposite Bea Alonzo in I Love Betty La Fea.Just a little background for the uninitiated, the local station has bought the rights to produce an adaptation of the popular Colombian soap, Yo Soy Betty La Fea, which spawned about eighteen adaptations around the world, including the popular US series Ugly Betty (which I follow and currently need to catch up on).Anyway, the pretty actress Bea Alonzo was cast for the unglamorous role of Betty Pengson, a girl with a heart of gold but doesn’t have the looks to match it. If you have a general idea about the story of the original Colombian series or the US adaptation then you get the idea. For months, the network has made it a secret to the public on who was cast for the lead role of Armando. They only revealed it today and here is what I think: It was not much of a reveal since there is only one actor who everyone wants to play opposite the Filipino-British actress. The same actor who has played her love interest in movies and teleseryes for the past 6 years(?) and that is none other than John Lloyd Cruz.  Can’t say I’m disappointed because I am not. I love their team-up. Now I hope it will be a great adaptation.
