OK, not really… however, this is really clever spoof on the ubiquitous "unboxing" of any new geek gadget on the market.One must wonder what Greenpease might think of the environemntal impact of the packaging.

Hoeveel gsm’s heb ik in mijn jonge (ja, toch wel, ondanks het exponentieel toenemende aantal grijze haren) leven al getest? Geen idee - het zouden er best wel zodanig veel kunnen zijn dat de totale hoeveelheid gsm-straling precies de oorzaak is van die grijze haren. Wat daarbij opvalt, is dat de verpakking van mobieltjes (en bij uitbreiding multimediagadgets) alsmaar origineler, opvallender en innovatiever moet zijn. Ik herinner mij nog levendig hoe Logitech zo fier als een gieter kwam tonen dat ze voor hun allereerste lasermuis een rood knipperlichtje in de verpakking geïntegreerd hadden. En hoe Apple overal niet alleen lovende kritiek kreeg voor hun allereerste iPod, maar ook voor het originele, uitklapbare ontwerp van de glanzende kartonnen kubus errond.Tegenwoordig test ik wel wat minder gsm’s dan vroeger, en eerlijk gezegd is het net de dozenmiserie die ik nog het minst van al mis. Want terwijl andere jonge gasten unboxing party’s organiseren (het schijnt voor sommigen nogal leutig te zijn om dozen uit te pakken?), is er voor een tester (doorgaans) één bijkomende geinigheid: wat uitgepakt wordt, moet nagenoeg altijd op een zeker punt in de tijd ook weer ingepakt worden. En niet zomaar op eender welke manier. Oh nee hoor, want dan past het spreekwoordelijke dekseltje niet meer. Het leutige aan die moderne dozen, is dat elk draadje, elke stekker, elk papiertje, ja, zelfs elk stofje, maar op één mogelijke manier erin past. Om nog maar te zwijgen van al die keren dat ik dacht dat het eindelijk gelukt was, om dan erachter te komen dat ik pakweg de batterij nog vergeten in te pakken was. Nee, blij dat dat ondertussen geen alledaagse kost meer is. Maar deze gsm doos mogen ze mij wél altijd opsturen:

Trust me, this isn't what you would expect.  The dude's voice is annoying...but give it a minute or so... From the Samsung website:OK, so you have probably guessed by now that there is no ‘Technivator’ (although we wish there was) and that the film you probably just watched wasn’t a real ‘unboxing’ video. Here at Samsung we were wondering how to celebrate the launch of the Samsung Omnia (i900), so we had a chat with some impishly creative friends of ours, and this is what happened...We love watching ‘unboxing’ videos and we thought with so much information out there already about the product we’d have some fun…. No, it doesn’t come with marching bands and a rodeo, it does, however, come with a whole package of features that are listed at GSM arena, Digit Geek and of course at Samsung's own site... you can even become a fan of the device on Facebook, where it has more friends than we do!
