A couple of days ago I wrote a post entitled “POW or Artful Dodging?.“ At that time I had felt that McCain was using his war record abusively and it was really being used as a cover for his people to artfully dodge answering questions concerning his gaffes, non-answers and lies. Lo and behold, life happened to McCain today when he got in a little bit of trouble over not knowing how many houses he owned. The story itself might have died out of the papers quickly if Obama had not come out and slammed McCain over this information. And how did McCain and company respond to this attack from Obama? Why they did what I accused them of doing. They reached into that POW bag and pulled it right out as his lame duck excuse.Speaking to the Washington Post, aide Brian Rogers, in full damage-control mode, acknowledged that his boss had “some investment properties and stuff,” but added: “This is a guy who lived in one house for five and a half years — in prison.”The irony of me noting that McCain and his campaign staff was applying this silly dumb tactic and then for the masses to acknowledging the same thing could not have been sweeter. Honestly speaking, what does his POW status have to do with not knowing how many houses he owns? If we go down that road we would have to infer that he is a POW and….He’s so rich he has no idea how much property he owns. He’s not in the loop of his wife’s expenses. He’s old and can’t remember (be afraid if this answer is true). He knows but didn’t want the world to know that he was the real elitist. He’s never on message and is scared to answer questions unless his campaign tells him what to say (be afraid of this answer being true too).Once a liar always a liar (I’d start praying now if this answers is true)Which ever category McCain falls under it does not excuse his strategist and campaign staff. They pride themselves on quick responses and being so much on point. This ...
This is a great ad. It's nice to see Obama hitting back a bit. Of course, it's much easier for Obama to go negative, with all the material McCain keeps lobbing up.
Blog: The Obama campaign races to the air with an ad pegged to McCain's inability, in an interview with Politico's Maritn and Allen, to tally his houses.<
