what people are saying

Aziza Sa'id added this video and said
from the original poster: Behold the voluptuous woman: exotically dancing, bathing, sword-fighting, romancing, regally presiding, and pleading as a damsel in distress. You are watching actress Debra Paget in her (dual) role as Princess Shalimar/Taura in the 1954 Fox film "Princess of the Nile."

Dazzling Debra Paget was a gifted, "exotica" actress who performed--with Romantic élan--in a tremendous variety of colorful roles in the 1950s.

Debra's talents as an actress and dancer matched her physical beauty as a woman. Among her acting gifts was a rare ability to deliver her spoken lines with the most exquisite and compelling feminine grace. Onscreen, she is always a passionate presence of "banked fires." Whenever Debra Paget speaks, the words are molten.

Also appearing in the film: Jeffrey Hunter as "the hero" Prince Haidi; Michael Rennie as "the villain" Rama Khan; Michael Ansara (a staple presence in films of this sort as well as actress Barbara Eden's future husband) as Rama Khan's "partner in crime"; Edgar Barrier as the evil Shaman; and Dona Drake as "queen's maid" (Dona was no stranger to North African roles—see her also in Hope and Crosby's "Road to Morocco").

Debra Paget "returned to Egypt" as Shila in "Cleopatra's Daughter," a foreign film released domestically in 1963.

Side-note for the curious and demanding: Debra Paget brought her "Nile act" to Vegas in the 1950s. Please refer to my DEBRA PAGET SRO video for some jackpot views.

Side-note for the statistical: Debra Paget was Elvis Presley's first leading lady in films, co-starring with him in "Love Me Tender" (1956).

Comments or questions are welcome; however, lewd or derogatory remarks will be impaled with an ankh.
