In a country frequently hit by typhoons like the Philippines, awareness of such emergency, vigilance, and preparedness is very important, especially for children who suffers the most. Their vulnerable lives at peril.When turbulent times put their lives in danger, "safe areas" or spaces is a "must" . According to the United Nations, a child-friendly space is one place where the children can be reached in a protective, holistic way.As further stated in World Vision Website;"World Vision protects and cares for the most vulnerable victims of disasters by establishing Child-Friendly Spaces in affected communities.Child-Friendly Spaces provide a disaster’s youngest survivors with a safe place to play, participate in structured activities, and experience healing from any trauma and loss they’ve experienced. Well, poetry is another passion of mine, but my humanist heart will always crave for action intended to contribute in making life better for most people.For the meantime, writing about it keeps me going. Using my passion in creative writing for information campaigns and awareness through blogs somehow fills that empty space within me when it comes to my passion for children.I'm no saint, that I must say.
