This was called "predator control". Which basically meant that hunters wanted more moose to kill, so Palin offered up a bounty for people to shoot down wolves and bears from low-flying planes. I'm not opposed to hunting outright, but if you run out of game, you don't get to just go out and kill predators to get rid of the competition.
