Fouls happen in every NBA game, Ben Wallace over reacted. Ron Artest was just layin on the scorers table and some punk fan threw a bottle at him so yes I would say he was justified in goin after the guy. Anyone would have done the same thing in defense.

A breif description: Pacer Ron Artest hard-fouls Ben Wallace and Ben Wallace shoves Ron Artest. Players from both teams then involve in a 1 minute shoving match, but runs wild when a fan throws a cup at Ron Artest. Artest charges into the stands, with Pacer and Piston players right behind him. Consequences: Ron Artest (Pacer): Suspended for rest of season (73 regular season games and 13 playoff games, for a total of 86). Stephan Jackson (Pacer): 30 games Jermaine O'Neal (Pacer): 25 games (Reduced to 15 games on appeal) Ben Wallace (Piston): 6 games Anthony Johnson (Pacer): 5 games Reggie Miller (Pacer), Chauncey Billups (Piston), Elden Campbell (Piston), and Derrick Coleman (Piston): 1 game The fan who threw the cup at Ron Artest was found guilty of an assault charge and was sentenced to 30 days in jail along with a 2 year probation.
