Obama accuses McCain/Palin of attacking his record … what record? Obama is an empty suit who hasn’t done anything. That’s why instead of running on his record, he has to run a campaign based upon attacking McCain/Palin. Obama’s tactic has always been ‘the best defense is a good offense’. For example, Obama will make the pig/lipstick smear, just days after Palin scores points with the ‘pitbull/lipstick statement … then he disingenuously acts as if there’s no connection. He did it again with Palin’s community organizer is similar to a mayor, but with out the responsibility … which everyone knows was Palin’s response to Obama demeaning her experience as a small town mayor. There’s nothing wrong with being a community organizer, but being a community organizer is certainly not credentials for becoming President of the United States! Obama has done this, as well as playing the race card numerous times. The changes Obama wants would dramatically weaken this country, in terms of our economy and our national defense.

Who's She Kidding?(Article From Today’s Wall Street Journal)The Bridge to Nowhere argument isn’t going much of anywhere.Despite significant evidence to the contrary, the McCain campaign continues to assert that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told the federal government “thanks but no thanks” to the now-famous bridge to an island in her home state. The McCain campaign released a television advertisement Monday morning titled “Original Mavericks.” The narrator of the 30-second spot boasts about the pair: “He fights pork-barrel spending. She stopped the Bridge to Nowhere.”See Video:Gov. Palin, who John McCain named as his running mate less than two weeks ago, quickly adopted a stump line bragging about her opposition to the pork-barrel project Sen. McCain routinely decries. But Gov. Palin’s claim comes with a serious caveat. She endorsed the multimillion dollar project during her gubernatorial race in 2006. And while she did take part in stopping the project after it became a national scandal, she did not return the federal money. She just allocated it elsewhere.“We need to come to the defense of Southeast Alaska when proposals are on the table like the bridge,” Gov. Palin said in August 2006, according to the local newspaper, “and not allow the spinmeisters to turn this project or any other into something that’s so negative.” The bridge would have linked Ketchikan to the airport on Gravina Island. Travelers from Ketchikan (pop. 7,500) now rely on ferries.A year ago, the governor issued a press release that the money for the project was being “redirected.”“Ketchikan desires a better way to reach the airport, but the $398 million bridge is not the answer,” she said. “Despite the work of our congressional delegation, we are about $329 million short of full funding for the bridge project, and it’s clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between K...
Politics has become an act in precision. With news organizations and citizen reporters watching (and recording) every public appearance, all it takes is a wrong word—macaca, say—to sink a campaign. And yet the McCain campaign has seemed to drop all notions of caution in the last few days following the announcement of Sarah Palin as McCain’s running mate. Obama is hitting the GOP nominees hard on what can only be described as lies from the mouths of McCain, Palin, and their surrogates.Check it out:
Whoa. Truth is, they're anything but. John McCain is hardly a Maverick when seven of his top campaign advisers are Washington Lobbyists. He's no maverick when he votes with Bush 90% of the time. And Sarah Palin's no maverick either. She was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. Politicians lying about their records? You don't call that maverick. You call it more of the same." Cette publicité répond à celle-ci. Blog: Obama says McCain's no maverick.
Excellent ad. One of the key words in this is "lying." So glad they've used it. more about "Obama's Anti-Maverick Ad", posted with vodpod
though Hammett is even more awesomeI wouldn't go that far.
Part of me really ponders what McCain's master plan could be that has him perpetuating the same lies over and over that he or his running mate are mavericks or reformers?  They have both been called on the carpet for these lies and each lie has been written up in various newspapers around the country thoroughly.  Every fact checker has even pointed it out.  I would hardly call myself a reformer while voting 90% with Bush.  How Barbie Palin can continue to say that she was against the bridge to nowhere can only be accepted if you only look at it from the standpoint of when she was against it.  Worst yet she keep over the $200 million the federal government had already granted.  I hardly call that "Thanks but No Thanks," that was more like "Thanks Suckers."What thicken this Monkey Show called McCain's strategy is the Troopergate Investigation that is currently taking place against his running mate.  Unfortunately for McCain his operatives were unsuccessful, in what I call plan A, to unseat the Democrat, Hollis French, from being in charge of overseeing the ethics investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power when she dismissed the state's public safety commissioner.  I can only await what McCain's next step will be since I am sure he has a plan B to bring this matter to a close.  But Gov. Ed Rendell (PA) is not having none of what he terms as an obvious double standard.  He issued the following statement:Gov. Ed Rendell decried a double standard in the treatment of Sarah Palin on Monday, saying that if it was he who was at the center of the "troopergate" investigation, the press would be calling for his head.Gov. Ed Rendell  has a point anyone else and the public/media would be after that person's blood.  Nevertheless, the Gov. Ed Rendell did not stop there and pointed out just what he thought about McCain's (Monkey Show) strategy:"First of all, let me say it should be embarrassing for the Republican ticket that Rick Davis, Sen. McCain's campaign manager, said 'this election is no

It seems that with the collapse of Freddie and Fannie and the possible collapse of our #4 ranked bank Lehman Brothers, the media is now taking an interest in the work of lobbyist.  I can only say it is about time that some of the worst lobbyist get called on the carpet.  However, it is somewhat an amusing message when McCain starts talking about how he will clean up Washington from lobbyist/special interest groups when his own camp is littered with them. Today’s Politico fronts two stories about John McCain’s lobbyist connections. First, Jen DiMascio and Samuel Loewenburg report “at least 16 of McCain’s former Senate staffers have gone on to careers in the influence trade.” Three of them are now bundlers for his presidential campaign. Today’s NYT continues to take a hard look at the political connections between Freddie Mac and the leading presidential candidates. “The Republican nominee, Mr. McCain of Arizona, has numerous close relationships with and contributions from current and former company lobbyists,” reports Jackie Calmes. “Mr. Obama, his Democratic rival from Illinois, is second among members of Congress in donations from the firms’ employees and political action committees.” And the Wall Street Journal points to another angle: now that the government is taking over the mortgage giants, all lobbying activity must cease immediately. When the Federal Housing Finance Agency took control of the mortgage titans Sunday, it also placed a cage around two firms whose political activities are legendary. FHFA ordered both companies to suspend all lobbying activity and cease making political contributions from their huge political-action committees. The role of lobbyists on the McCain campaign has popped up again. Obama recently launched an ad claiming that that “seven of [McCain's] top campaign managers and officials are — guess what? — former corporate lobbyists.” CNN fact-checked the ad. According to them, it’s true. It is amazing
