NHS attack by MEP ‘unpatriotic’
I agree, although Hannan is entitled to an opinion what he doesent realize is he is running our country and our great institutions of which the NHS is one, down and dangerously makes him unpatriotic.

BBC NEWS: "Health Secretary Andy Burnham has accused a Tory MEP who attacked the NHS on American TV of being "unpatriotic".

Labour has stepped up its criticism of Daniel Hannan, with John Prescott recording a YouTube message to the American people defending the NHS.

Tory leader David Cameron has insisted the
Cricket: England: Strauss frustrated by stalemate
BBC CRICKET: "Captain Andrew Strauss admitted England lacked a cutting edge as the third Test with Australia ended in a draw.

"We came to the ground with high hopes that we might force a victory, but the wicket had died," Strauss said.

"We just couldn't get it swinging, and that made a difference. We tried other options but it just wasn't to be."

On the fitness of Andrew Flintoff for Friday's fourth Test he added: "Freddie seems OK. We're still pretty optimistic he'll be OK for Headingley...."

Obama hails Apollo 11 astronauts
I recall the excitement of 20 July 1969; the success of the Apollo project that began with the landing of  two of the Apollo 11 crew on the surface of the Moon was a significant scientific achievement.  Neil Armstrong and his colleagues, his fellow astronauts are right all efforts should now focuas on a permament [...]
Troops need more, says Army head
It is now clear that our Labour government and the beancounters have let our troops down; despite all that spin General Sir Richard Dannatt has made it clear more equipment is needed and he is handing in a shopping list. But the question arises, Operation Panther’s Claw must surely have taken some planning well ahead [...]

PMQs Weds. 15 July 2009
The final Prime Ministers Questions of this parliamentary session, the next is due mid October unless some event makes the recall of parliament necessary. PMQs Weds. 1 July 2009
The main focus of questions/statements from Tory leader David Cameron was once again cuts in public spending. Cameron demeans himself by mocking the prime minister and needs to be more adult in his manner. Frankly, the only reason Cameron brings this subject of cuts up is simply because it’s a smokescreen for his [...]
Teachers face sack under new classroom licence plan.
Just as you might think that Labour politicians were beginning to focus on some sort of strategy, no matter how week, for the next general election comes this bombshell from Ed Balls.  Just why impose any sort of regular testing on teachers appears to pander to popularism.  The extraordinary thing is that teachers unlike other [...]
